Team Freedom

Team Freedom XX is running it’s 20th Spring Lake 5 mile race over Memorial Weekend 2016. We have a simple mission, which is to remember the true meaning of Memorial Day (see here for history of Memorial Day https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memorial_Day.)

To reinforce our mission, each year, we have raised money for veteran causes, raising tens of thousands of dollars to assist those who have served and who are now in need. For our 20th year, we are assisting our local disabled American veterans chapter in Asbury Park, NJ. The DAV is a nationally recognized charity and in order to become a member one must have been wounded, gassed, injured or disabled in the line of duty during time of war, while in the service of either the military or naval forces of the United States of America, and who has not been dishonorably discharged. The local Asbury Park branch is a new chapter and is in great need of basic equipment and a vehicle to transport disabled veterans to medical facilities among other needs. For our 20th year, we have set a goal to raise $20,000 to help these disabled veterans. Please join us in supporting those who have been wounded or injured while serving.
